bold patterns.

Jacket: Francesca's Collection; Sparkles Tank: Ann Taylor; Grey Pants: Express; Jewelry, RUBY by Kaley Elizabeth, Michael Kors Watch, Custom Bracelet; Black Stilettos: Old

Today is such a gloomy day in midwest Ohio that I needed to brighten it up with sparkles and leopard print. It's not very often that I would combine such bold prints however today I was just feeling bold. Plus, it's almost the weekend and another reason to be excited.

HAPPY THURSDAY!

bon look.

I have been on the hunt for a new pair of glasses for some time. When I heard about bon look from the Rockstar Diaries, I was immediately in love with their retro chic frames. I feel nerdy-chic. And I have gotten so many compliments while being out and about. The most amazing part is that you can order prescription glasses for $99! Ordering is beyond easy and the glasses arrived in a week. Looooove!

cinnamon coffee cake.

I finally made a cake for my cake dome!! I bet mom will be so proud. I made a cinnamon coffee cake and it was seriously delicious. I used a Martha Stewart recipe and Martha nailed it. My favorite part (outside of eating it), was my entire apartment smelled like cake and cinnamon.

Today has turned into a Zara sort of Monday. I bought this dress a couple weeks ago for such a great price that I am now on the hunt for more Zara. I can't wait for my next trip to NY to visit one of their shops.

detroit.

(Sorry for the red eyes! I couldn't fix.)

This past week, I spent time with some of the most creative, intelligent, fun-loving group of people. I work for a company called ePrize. We are the leader in interactive promotions and continue to define the digital and loyalty space. Overall, we are pretty awesome! The company brought in employees from all over the country to one city...Detroit (where we are headquartered).

Our schedules were jam packed with meetings for two days but ended with a celebration at the Fox Theatre in downtown Detroit. There was a band (Toybox - check them out on FB), karaoke, drinks, laughs, awards and a great way to head us into 2012.

However the highlight to my week was when I got home. I walked into my apartment where Kyle had went to the grocery store and packed my fridge full of food, bought me flowers, lit candles so my place smelled nice and picked Ruby up from Doggy Day Care so she would be there when I got home. I am one lucky lady!!

chocolate chip cookies.

This year, I am attempting to perfect the chocolate chip cookie. My lovely friend Meg has the MOST amazing recipe you could dream of. The cookie is super chocolaty, moist on the inside and yet the crunchy on the outside. It's everything you want in a cookie! And since my lovely friend Meg will not give me her recipe (totally calling you out), I am searching blogs to hunt one down.

I found this recipe on A Tender Crumb and it was delic. The most difficult part was finding pastry flour since it is not at local grocery stores. I found it at the Giant Eagle Market Place (Pastry Counter) but I have also heard you can find it at Whole Foods.

Happy Baking!!

P.S. Mom - getting some use out of my cake dome. It's not a cake but it still looks pretty. :)

new years eve.

Kyle and I were not planning on doing anything this New Years Eve. It was going to be a quiet night filled with movies, wine, and probably asleep by 10 PM. In fact, the entire weekend was going to be pretty low key. However my dearest friend was in town visiting family with her husband and the quiet New Years Eve turned into buying last minute tickets to the Blue Jackets game and toasting the new year at the Crowne Plaza. We also had dinner with friends at the Rossi and ate some pretty amazing hamburgers that never seem to fail. I wouldn't have had it any other way!!

G and I wanted to take some pics before we headed out to the game. I put the camera on continuous shooting and we were rolled over laughing by the end. We tried to do it with the guys but they didn't appreciate it as much as we did.

P.S. It is finally snowing in Columbus and I am beyond excited!!! January and just now getting snow...unbelievable.
