epic fail.

I had a huge epic fail last night in the kitchen trying to make red velvet cupcakes. I generally wouldn't share such a failure but they ended up looking like meat cupcakes and didn't resemble red velvet in any way that we couldn't stop laughing...therefore I had to share!

Surprisingly, I consider myself a pretty good baker. However the problem was that I didn't realize I was supposed to add water to butter milk if it was powdered. Welp, now I know! At least we got a big laugh out of the night!

Since I bought these jeans, I am constantly trying to think of what I want to wear with them. After seeing a post on Pinterest yesterday that led to TeenVogue, I was inspired and it ultimately led to my decision of stripes. I opted for nude shoes and love the combo!

Also, how great is Pinterest?! I'm obsessed.

Since the weather is a little in flux, hot & cold, cold & hot, a scarf is the perfect accessory to throw on while you are out and about. The one I am wearing today is one my fav's. The fabric is so soft! I honestly can't imagine wearing an accessory that is near my face that is rough or uncomfortable. I would fidget all day.

I am feeling in a very slouchy mood today (and was yesterday as well). When I am in these types of moods, I always throw on some ripped jeans, a slouchy blouse and heels to make it through. It seems to be doing the trick!

Since the weather has been unreal, Ruby and I decided to get some outdoor time yesterday. We played a lot of throw and fetch however sometimes I felt like I was doing the majority of the fetching. Can dogs have ADD?

After lots of play time, some friends and I barbecued, drank some champagne and played corn-hole. What a lovely night!

I’ve been seeing peplum dresses, skirts, and tops pop up just about everywhere – but I was skeptical as to why anyone would want to add an extra layer of flouncy fabric around their hips. I bought this top, which is a slight variation on the classic shape, a couple of weeks ago at The Emperors Closet in the Short Noth and it’s since made me change my stance. When balanced properly, like with a fitted skirt or pant, an understated ruffle creates a surprisingly sleek silhouette.

Today is going to be great!! Today is going to be great!! Do you ever find that you have to remind yourself what kind of day it is? I think today is one of those days for me. What a fun-filled crazy weekend! St. Patties Day was filled with visiting bars in downtown Columbus, lunch with friends, listening to bands, Irish dancing and music, and lots of green beer. We were blessed to have the most beautiful weather and the day was a blast.

Yesterday we had terrible weather. Tornado warning, hail, and thunderstorms...not fun! Other than yesterday, this week is off to a great start with 70 degree weather. I hope this warm weather streak continues!

What an amazingly beautiful day! 70 and sunny in Ohio and it has me in the best mood possible! So much that I put on my favorite walking boots and taking my favorite lady this afternoon for a stroll around a park. I hope everyone is enjoying the day!

 New KitchenAid Mixer in Mint Green. They actually sent me two but only charged me once. I returned the other and got a $25 gift card for doing the right thing. :) Karma, baby!

After being sick for what seemed like an eternity, I started feeling better just in time for the amazing weather yesterday. I pretty much rested all weekend and was in bed by ridiculous early hours on both Friday and Saturday. I am so thankful that I forced myself to rest because I was able to enjoy the 70 degree weather yesterday by taking a run, eating lunch on a patio, napping with the windows open, barbecuing and listening to Kyle play the guitar.

I finally got to meet the newest family member, MacKenzie Grace Gusmus. She is the sweetest, most beautiful little lady and as you can see, she is so tiny. She didn't wake up once when we were there. Beyond precious!
