cake eater.

Birthdays are awesome! And yesterday was no exception. It started off with Kyle surprising me with breakfast: veggie omelette with coffee. Followed by work and tons of Facebook Birthday wishes. Once Kyle got home, together, we made this Vanilla with Chocolate Frosting and Sprinkles cake (You know you are getting old when you have enough ingredients in your pantry to make a cake). We opened presents, had dinner, drank wine from my new wine decanter and watched a movie. It was exactly how I wanted to spend my day (minus work, of course). And today, I am expecting the other half of my present to be delivered. The anticipation is killing me! Picture is below.

it's official.

Today, I officially turn the big 2-8!! I thought I would feel a little sad about turning one year closer to 30 but I actually don't at all. I am happy, content, and truly blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life. In honor of all these wonderful things, I am celebrating the day by wearing a hot pink dress, my best SJP bun and a new Skagen watch from my parents. Happy Day!!

home.

Not sure if I have mentioned this, but I LOVE our new place. Going from a downtown loft to a full 2 bedroom/2 bath, I can  jump, twirl, and dance and not hit one piece of furniture. It's ah-mazing!

Kyle and I are having a lot of fun decorating and trying to merge our styles into one. I have a very eclectic and feminine style whereas his is more straight-edged and masculine. Thankfully, we both agree that we want a space that is warm with unique art to help provide balance.

While the hunt continues for those pieces, I thought I would share the apartment in it's current state...

life lately, according to my iPhone.

 Dinner on a patio

As expected, the past month and a half was nothing short of busy.  It's hard to believe that so much can happen in such a short amount of time. Through all of the traveling, packing and running around, I am so blessed to have the opportunities to do the things that I do.

Just to recap: I went from NY to Florida and then the Bahamas. Back to Florida and on a flight to DC. After DC, Kyle and I moved into our first apartment <3. After the move in, back to NY. Now, I am working on getting settled into the new apartment and have a birthday this week. The big 2-8. Woooooooooo!

vacation 2012

Well...it's been awhile! Over the past several weeks, I have been busy, busy, busy. Work, NY, Vacation, Life, etc. However I'm so glad that while I have been so busy, some of that time was spent laying by a pool in Florida, going to Disney World, Cruise to the Bahamas (CocoCay and Nassau), Savannah, GA and a total of 32 hours of driving....weeee! Here are some pics from the trip:

just breathe.

Well, just as I anticipated, the end of April, entire month of May and beginning of June is beyond busy. Beyond! I am longing for a weekend of nothing but R&R. Unfortunately that isn't in the plan anytime soon.  Home this weekend for Mother's Day, New York next week, Bahamas the week after and then DC when I get back. Wow! Someone remind me to breathe.

On a positive note, my Summer wardrobe and I have been reunited. It's almost as if I just went shopping and bought new skirts, dresses and sandals. Boy I have missed this stuff!

alumni reunion.

It's hard to believe it has been 6 years since I graduated college. Time just flies by! This past weekend, I got to hang with my old college roomies at an alumni reunion and reminisce on all the fun times we've had. That's what makes college so special...the friendships! It has me wishing for a girls trip very soon.

Best group of friends a girl could ask for!
